Montagne Jeunnesse Skin Heroes

The Montagne Jeunnesse face masks have been something I used to constantly walk past when doing my weekly food shop in the beauty aisle of Asda and I admit I never really gave them a chance. I think because there was so many options I never looked at them properly even though I had heard good things. I have since been asked if I would like to review their new skin heroes range and straight away I replied 'YES PLEASE!' Finally I have given them a go, and I am so glad I have. These are the masks that make their new range of face masks 'Skin Heroes' -

- Shine Control (For Greasy Skin That Likes To Shine)
This is a deep cleansing mud mask containing Argan Oil to help balance oily areas and Acai berries, a powerful anti-oxidant that helps protect. After using the face mask you then use a balancing moisturiser to help control shine.

- Dry Skin Mask (Holds In Moisture to Banish Dry Areas)
This Ultra Moisturising mask is a creamy souffle containing Rasperries, Blueberries and red grapes which are high in anti-oxidants that protect and replenish your skin. Followed with a Rehydrating Skin Serum containing Kiosmetine which is clinically proven to make skin smoother.

- Break Out Mask (For Problem Skin, Prone To Eruptions)
The cleansing mud mask uses Tea Tree and soothing Canadian Willowherb to flush out blocked pored, using the natural powers of Witch Hazel calm your skin. Once finished with the mud mask, there is a Rapid Action Moisturiser which is super moisturising.

- T-Zone Peel Off (Helps Calm and Soothe Bothersome Bits)
This purifying peel off grabs dirt and helos clear impurities, followed by a Rapid Action Moisturiser which helps ease the bothersome bits and helps calm down skin.

- De-Clog Pores (Deep Cleansing Nose Strips)
These ultra-deep cleansing nose pore strips contain natural Citrus to draw out deep-rooted impurities for cleaner, less visible pores on and around the nose.

I am so so impressed with these face masks, I have used others before and have found myself scraping 'mud' from one cheek to try cover the other whereas these masks are extremely generous, I even found that I had some left over. After using the masks my skin felt so smooth and ungreasy which was all helped along by the second pouch of moisturiser/serum that comes with each mask to use afterwards. The mask consistencies are quite thick so unless you are extremely heavy handed the application will be an unmessy affair, and they smell so fresh and natural you won't mind keeping them on for a good 15 minutes (even the nose strips smell nice).

Skin Heroes are now available at ASDA (RRP £1.49) along with Montagne Jeunnesse's other face masks and there is so much choice, you will most definitely find at least one that is suitable for whatever skin type you are. All products are suitable for vegetarians and Montagne Jeunnesse always look to use natural ingredients, so in my books it ticks all the boxes.

I have just had a peruse of Montagne Jeunnesse's other masks, I am really intrigued by the self heating mask, I love those type of products....   I am off to Asda!

Oooopsie

Whilst applying for jobs I have been very well behaved in terms of spending money both when out and on the internet. But, here are the few slip ups I have made, and I most probably will  try and justify why I have bought them.

The first purchase/s were from a Body Shop party I went to about a month ago. My mum has always said to me that the sooner you start the wrinkle cream the longer you will keep wrinkles at bay, at the age of 24 this scared me a tad. I was getting a bit paranoid that I was getting lines from squinting in the sun and my mum told me a cream with Vitamin E would be perfect as it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So, I opted for the Vitamin E Moisture Serum and the Vitamin E Illuminating Moisture Cream.

I have only been using them for a couple of days but I can already see/feel a tremendous difference in my skin. It feels soft all the time and is no longer dry in places. It is definitely the best moisturising routine I have used. I am also loving the illuminating effect of the moisture cream.

My second purchase was also a few weeks ago. I found this jewellery seller 'Guns and Cupcakes' online and fell in love with this sideways cross necklace, so sneakily hit 'buy now' *slaps wrist*. I have always loved the necklace Sara wears, but do love this slightly different take on it.

How beautiful is the packaging!! That would of sold me on its own! You can also buy their jewellery on eBay.

Now on to my last purchase. For ages I have been coveting some good make up brushes. After watching a lot of YouTubers and reading a lot of blogs I had it in my head that I needed Sigma brushes, but then I noticed recently there has been a lot of talk about the Real Technique brushes. I came across the brushes from Samantha Chapman who is part of Pixiwoo on http://www.love-makeup.co.uk/. I noticed that you could pay by PayPal and after selling some clothes I had some money sitting in my account, which could go towards some good quality brushes :) (see, justifying).I decided to go for the Core Collection, which contains a Contour Brush, Foundation Brush, Buffing Brush, Detailing Brush and a pouch that also doubles as a stand.

The brushes arrived super quick, and I am sooooo happy with them. They are so soft and my make up applies so much better than with my old cheapy brushes. At a bargain of £18.99 for 4 brushes and the pouch/stand, you DEFINITELY can't go wrong.

Those are my 'treats' for the past 5/6 weeks, I think I have done pretty well.

Its FRIDAY :D

RAK Lovelies x

As most of you will have probably read on the other girls blog posts, the lovely Kelly over at Bakes, Beauty and Blog came up with the idea of RAK. Over to Kelly -

"I know how much we all like getting our parcels of goodies from the postman and I know some are currently going though spending ban and p10p so I thought I would try and start a Random Act of Kindness group.  I have done this before and it worked really well.

So the idea is we form a group I'm thinking about 5 to start off with and then we can build it up if we get more interest."

RAK stands for Random Act of Kindness and the idea was to send a parcel to each person with the limit of £2. When I read Kelly's post, I commented straight away as I thought it was such a lovely thing to be a part of. £2 isn't a great amount of money these days but everyone did so well and we all got some lovely goodies out of it :) and some lovely notes.

The first of my RAK gifts came from Dee over at Confessions of a Makeupaholic. The parcel contained a beautiful charm bracelet and two charms, also some sweeties :) She did extremely well with the budget and I absolutely love the charms, they are so cute.

Dee
The second parcel I received was from Leanne over at A Slice of my life. Leanne had sent me a nail varnish from Technic in Strawberries and Cream, a bracelet and an aero lamb (YUM) , I have yet to try the nail varnish but have worn the bracelet.. its so pretty. She also included a Welsh cake which I thought was really thoughtful and I had never tried one before.. they are yummy :)

Leanne
My third parcel was from Kelly over at Bakes, Beauty & Blog who had organised RAK :) Kelly had sent an eye liner in Gold Nugget and an eye shadow in Shade 4 from MUA, and also a Malteasers bunny (YUM). I am excited to try the eye shadow and eye liner as its MUA and I have yet to try any of their stuff.

Kelly
My fourth was from Rachel from Band of Blushers.  Rachel had sent me a lovely Sparkle Eye Dust in Karat Rose from NYC from . I have yet to try it but will be doing very soon. I love the pot it comes in with a little brush built in the lid, very cute.

Rachel
I am afraid the sweets and chocolates have not been included in the photos as these parcels arrived around the same time lent had finished, in which I had given up sweets and chocolate. So they were devoured pretty much as soon as the parcels had been opened, they were very well received :)

As I had mentioned in the post before this I have been having a very tough time so this RAK was the perfect pick me up. It really cheered me up, seeing that people I haven't met before can be so generous and thoughtful. A big thank you to the girls for my lovely goodies, they cheered me up in a big way and I hope you all liked your gifts. Just goes to show you don't have to spend loads to make someone feel good :)

My Random Act of Kindness
Dont forget to check the lovely ladies out over on twitter or their blogs :)

Lots of love..

Stranger...

Haven't been on here for quite awhile, have a lot going on that has left me with no energy ..emotionally and physically, but power through I will. My mum has been going through a hard time recently, her mum (my nana) has been very ill so have been staying with her for awhile. This made Mothers day on Sunday quite a difficult time. We went out for lunch but were all very emotional so as a little brightener I made my mum some little cupcakes..I know they are only cupcakes, but any way to brighten up her day...

There are much prettier cupcakes out there, but believe it or not, this was my first time making cakes. I have never been that keen on cooking as I'm a bit of a disaster in the kitchen. But, I have decided to start learning. I have lived away from home for 5 years, I can cook, but nothing brilliant. Anyone know of any good cook books/recipes out there!?

Moving on to happier times..

I returned to my flat last night after some time away to find a lovely package waiting for me. As I mentioned in the post before this, I won Dee's 12+ giveaway :) You can find her on Twitter and also check out her blog. It came with a lovely little note, Im a big lover of notes, little personal touches.. Doesn't take a lot of effort, but the thought goes a long way in my eyes..

Girlz only  'Party Nights' Dry Shampoo
Creightons 'Perfect Red' Extra Moisturising Shampoo
Essence 'Glossy Lipgloss' in Berry Sorbet
Essence Black and White Nail Fashion Stickers
Catrice Mineral Soft Powder Rouge in 130 Light Burgundy
Essence Colour and Go in 27 No More Drama
Essence Colour and Go in 26 Break Through
So far I have yet to try anything but the dry shampoo, which has come at a perfect time.. I have been all over the place in the past week so it has come in handy :) I look forward to trying everything else as soon as I have time, especially the lipgloss which smells good enough to eat.

Thank you again Dee :)

Also thinking of doing a small giveaway when I hit 25 followers, have seen some great ones on other peoples blogs and would really like to give something back.

Much love

Finally Friday

This has been such a longggggg week and I am so happy its late afternoon on a Friday, my favourite time of the week.

Just had a message through that I won a giveaway, this never happens, so this has brightened up my day. Very excited to get the goodies from the giveaway, check out Dee's blog. Lovely little blog :) and she has another give away coming up soon so go follow.

I had 3 parcels arrive this morning, all sat by my door when I got back from work...I love getting post. I think people should go back to writing to each other, seems much more thoughtful and precious coming through the post rather than email..anyway.. The first was my order from Elf that I ordered yesterday afternoon, now thats quick delivery!! (Sorry about the rubbish image quality, have managed to pack my camera wire so they are off my phone)

The second was some shoes :) I persuaded myself into buying these. See, I dont have any smart black shoes so needed some new ones....honest :D My other three pairs just wont do obviously. They are so pretty, I am now thinking of when I can go out next so I can wear them.

The third was my order from ASOS, I used one of my £9 for £20 vouchers and got some St Tropez Mousse and Models Own nail pen and polish. Still have another voucher to use but undecided on what to use it on, any suggestions!?
Thought I would share a project with you that I have come across. Its a project by Stina Jones (check her out on Twitter) who created a new doodle every day for a year. This was done to raise funds for the charity Shelter, through art sales and donations. I love ALL of the doodles, and will be getting some off her website by the end of the weekend.
Doodle 096

Check out the website where you can buy them from, they are only £1.50 and it goes straight to charity so definitely take a look for some lovely wall art :) They'd also make cute little gifts . You can catch her blog here, what an amazing project.

Finally Friday

Well this week has taken its time, but its finally Friday and I have finally started shifting this nasty cold. I have had it a week and its only just started lifting today, must of been after my dose of celebrity juice :p Oh how I love it.

I am so excited for this weekend. Tonight I am going out for food with some friends and to see the film 'Paul' which I am uber excited about.....I have heard good things. Tomorrow I am off to the Nottingham Belfry Spa :D its a belated birthday present and I CAN'T WAIT. The website looks so lovely :) Have to wake up tomorrow extra early as I have seen the Soap & Glory boxes are back in at Boots, so need to grab one before I spa it up... just don't know which one to go for :s

Popped to Primark last weekend and grabbed a few things, I never seem to do very well when it comes to Primark. When reading other blogs, some of you find some gorge stuff and my eyes seem to miss it when I go, but.... FINALLY I found some goodies :)

Oh and also big BIG rave for a new face wash I have just bought. I struggle to find a goodun when it comes to face wash but this one is amaze..

St Ives Apricot Scrub

...The smell is addictive and you feel so refreshed after using. It is an exfoliating face wash and you can really feel it work :) Definitely recommend.

Lots of loves

We are the Trent army..

The weekend flew past so quickly.. can't believe its Tuesday already :-S

Had a lovely lovely weekend back at my parents. Had a cheese and wine evening with the girls on Friday (we were trying to be all grown up) which resulted in playing on the Xbox Kinect and wine being spilt all over the floor...whoopsie.
Doesn't it look scrummy
If you haven't had a go on the Xbox kinect, you should try it.. such good fun. We were playing on a dance game and when playing in a group its very funny...wine added, its hilarious. I can't imagine that its much fun playing on your own though.

I got a belated birthday present over the weekend, a cute necklace and ...Benefit makeup.. I am in love with Benefit so was over the moon when handed this cute parcel..

:)
It contained a "Sha la lovely - fab-u-lous eye primping kit' which includes:

  • Bad gal lash mini
  • 3 powder shadows
  • Creaseless cream shadow/liner
  • Boi-ing
  • Eye bright
  • Concealer brush
  • Talent brush/fluff brush
Sha la laaa
I cant wait to have a play :) I was going to last night but ended up going to see the Ice Hockey - Nottingham Trent vs. Nottingham Uni. I had to go show support for Trent, which was well worth it as we won 4-2 whoop.

Trent Tigers!!
Much loves
