'I'm so excited I could wee its the Queen's Jubilee!'

( ^^ Yeah, I went there)

As you all must know this weekend in the UK it is the Queens Jubilee! To some this may just be exciting due to the impending 4 day weekend which will be spent away on holiday or in a pub getting merry, but to others (myself included) it brings on a chance to be patriotic and celebrate the Queen and all things British. On the lead up to the celebrations the shops have been going ceraaaaazzzyyy with their Jubilee memorillia and I LOVE  IT ALL!! (If only I had a room to fill with all things red, blue and white, to sit and drink tea, eat scones and decorate with beautiful bunting...).

I love how patriotic the country can be and love me some tacky souvenirs so here is a selection of my fave finds.

1  |  2  |  3  |  4  |  5  |  6  |  7  |  8

Tatty Devine Necklace
Always a big hit with their creative bling, Tatty Devine's bunting necklace is so feminie and pretty, quite timid compared to their other more 'garish' designs, but its a big hit with me.

Emma Bridgewater Jubilee Mug
I wanted to get something as a keepsake and found most of the Jubilee mugs are quite naff and look cheap where as this mug I think is super cute.  It is now mine :)

Solar Powered Waving Queen
Spotted in a lighting shop in Soho, they are quite tacky but oh so quirky .. I.NEED.ONE.. I wander if the Queen would approve?

Bunting
I am a massive fan of bunting and have been looking for a reason to put it up around the house for months and finally, a fitting occasion! Bunting is available in many shops and it is also extrememly easy to make yourself, an extremely cheap and easy way to decorate and get in a celebratory mood.

Oyster Card
These special addition cards have been available to commemorate this special occassion since mid May, I feel they could of come up with a better design but thats only due to me being a picky designer, I would still snap one up as a keepsake.

God Save The Queen
This scarf is beautiful but a touch on the expensive side for me, I love the watercolour effect and the colours are perfect for the spring.

Marmite
Super tempted to get this for my mum, we are both big lovers of marmite and I think this would be a cute little gift.

Tea Towel
Oh how this tea towel made me chuckle when I spotted it in this weeks Stylist,  I am a big fan of rhyming and play on words so this is right up my street. Anyone so excited they could wee because its Queenies jubilee?

Are you planning on decorating for the Jubilee... bought any Jubilee inspired items? Please do share.

Eggcellent.. !!

For many a week I kept an eye out for the eggs dotted around London for 'The Faberge Big Egg Hunt', but to my dismay, no eggs for me... until Tuesday night! It was a cold, dark evening, on Carnaby Street in London town, when two slightly intoxicated ladies stumbled on said egg..

Clearly over the moon to find this egg designed by Benjamin Shine

I can't believe there are 200 eggs of this size dotted around London, and I have come across one!! I must be walking around with my eyes closed.

The hunt was 'hatched' by Elephant Family and Action for Children, who wish to create this record breaking egg hunt across Central London to raise money for both causes. You can visit the website where you will find zone maps, which will help you find the 200 eggs created by leading artists, designers, architects and jewellers.

Some of the 200 eggs..

I think this egg hunt is a great idea, it has been going on for quite a few weeks and will be around till Easter. Also, if you fancy having one of these two and a half foot fibreglass sculptures in your crib, you can bid for them! The egg we came across, is currently at £10,600!!

And there is more..  If spotting these eggs around the city isn't enough, you can text in with a keyword found at each egg, to then be in for the chance to win the golden egg! The more you text, the more entries you get. Egggcellent I say :)

A day in the life..

(Apologies in advance for the picture heavy post, I got snap happy)

This post is a day late, but due to being in London till late last night I was in no fit state to be uploading photos and attempting to write about my day (I didn't even have the energy to drive home, had to stay at a friends I was that worn out). But, what an awesome day I had.

06 - A day in the life, photographs taken throughout the day

Yesterday, we went to London to meet up with my old flat mate/uni pal Leila and her boyfriend Chris. The journey was slightly interesting, with Jody going the wrong way up the motorway and then coming off at the wrong junction, consequences of letting a man drive :p

When we finally got there we visited the Saatchi Gallery which was, interesting. The building the gallery in is beautiful and in such a lovely area, very posh. Looking at some of the work inside we wandered how some of the stuff can be called art, but nevertheless, we enjoyed looking round. I did love one room. It was completely filled with sump oil so smelt horrible, but was perfectly still therefore giving perfect reflections.

For lunch, we went to a 'Slug and Lettuce', cheap and cheerful, which ended up being free due to their card machine breaking, brucey bonus.

We then went in search of the Ice Bar which is near to the Piccadilly tube stop. Laden up with cloaks and gloves we went in to the bar for cocktails in glasses made of ice. It was awesome, slightly pricey but definitely worth visiting. I did make the mistake of wearing flip flops, so by the end of our 40 minute time slot I could not feel my feet, luckily leaving the Ice bar did make London feel like it was having a heat wave, tootsies warmed up sharpish.

The rest of our day in London was spent walking round just enjoying the weather. Other places visited included Covent Gardens, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Oxford Street, Westminster, The M&M shop and we also strolled past the London Eye and Aquarium.

I feel tired just writing about the day. Hope you had an awesome weekend :)

Much loves

Monday Madness

Hey hey :)

Have just realised its been a week since I last posted, time flies!!

Had a pretty hectic week. My flat mate and I have been asked to move out of our flat as the landlord now wants to rent to just students so we have a month to get out :-/ We have wanted to move down South for quite a while so this was the kick up the bum that we needed.... Even so, its stills a bit daunting. I have handed my notice in at work, the first step to the big move and it wasn't the easiest thing I have ever done. I kept putting it off as, even though I don't like to admit it, I care what people think and don't like upsetting/annoying people. Once it was done though, it felt like a HUGE weight off my mind.

Now I can start flat/job hunting and making all these ideas I have in my head a reality :) I will also be closer to family and friends back in Oxfordshire so can see everyone much more.

Moving also equals packing...again!! I have been living in Nottingham for 5 years, including my three years at uni, and have lived in 6 different houses/flats. That's a lot of packing and unpacking. I can't wait to live somewhere for longer than 10 months... will be a new record.

Have had a pretty laid back weekend. Night in on Friday with a curry and Comic Relief :) and then it was a bit of shopping and chilling for the rest of the weekend. Went out for a few drinks on Saturday night and watched the film Hall Pass, which I am still not to sure on. Owen Wilson as a dad!?! I am used to seeing him playing a 'lad'. Must be a sad day when an actor realises he is past playing that sort of character and has to grow up.

I will be doing a bit of freelance work whilst sorting London out so need to sort my website out, its currently looking very sad and drab. Will also be getting new business cards etc, lots to keep me occupied.

Check out the site Pinterest, I have found it very inspiring. You can pin images you find anywhere on the internet and it will keep them in collections for you. Perfect for inspiration. You are also able to follow other people to see what they have found, and maybe even 'Repin'. When I first joined it was invite only, if it still is, let me know and I will send an invite :) My Pin Boards

Happy Monday
